Whoever wants to use music in media or media channels such as radio, TV or Internet or wants to publish music on records in Germany, is obliged to register with GEMA. This registration should include all relevant information about the music to guarantee clear classification.
The information required by the GEMA registration includes title, composer, editor and publisher of the according music. In principle, GEMA assumes that all music published on records or in the media requires a GEMA license. Royalty-free music has to be registered (via an exemption application) and, if necessary, proven as such.
Our GEMA- and Royalty-free music library only offers Royalty-free music. The use of this music does not require any payment of GEMA fees and on purchase of the music from our library we automatically transfer you the exclusive license rights.
