"Streaming"

Streaming is a form of data transfer from one PC to another and is comparable to a broadcast on the radio or TV, where media is also transferred on a digital basis.
However, many people mix up streaming and downloading, whereas streamed data simply "streams" to a PC, i.e. to a physical data medium, without being copied, saved or displayed as container. Therefore streams can only be used temporarily.
From a legal point of view, this has the advantage that data (e.g. music videos) is only transferred without switching users. Streaming can therefore avoid common legal issues regarding music rights.
Streaming represents an adequate alternative to DRM, which did not gain popularity among customers as it was deemed too expensive and complicated to use.
