"Tones"

A tone is an acoustic event with a consistent vibrant frequency and is therefore the opposite of a sound which consists of various different irregular vibrations whose frequencies do not have an integer relation. The mathematical connections and physical givens of tones were already compiled by the ancient Greeks such as Pythagoras who researched and developed many laws and principles of tones and vibrations.
